More Snow and Temps as Low as MINUS 14 Degrees This Morning!

It’s c-c-cold out this morning! That is the big story this morning. Check the individual ski pages for lows this morning from around the region, and check the SLOPE CONDITIONS page for more details about slope openings and more.

Here’s some basic highlights for today.

Canaan Valley is reporting -10° this morning and the high should warm to a balmy 5° above! They have 35 trails open as well as 30km of back country trails.

Snowshoe is reporting -8° this morning. The Cupp Run will be closed today until about 2 p.m. for the Cupp Run Challenge race. Snowshoe has now had 49” of snow in the last 20 days! “Conditions could not be better”, says Lindsay Kutsko.

Timberline Resort is reporting -14° this morning and ½” of new snow on their 28 open trails.

Winterplace reported 1” of additional snowfall and great conditions.

Bryce Resort is 100% open and only for Day Skiing today. They are making snow as well. You’ll also want to come out on February 11th for the USSA Races for Juniors 4-6 and Masters.

The Homestead added another trail opening and is now 80% open for the first time this season.

Wintergreen is open with 22 trails today. They closed Lower Dobie for focused snowmaking. Sarah Lovejoy said that they plan to be 100% open by this weekend!

Cataloochee received 1” of snow on Sunday and they are 100% open for day skiing only today. Tubing is closed until Thursday as well.

Hawksnest is 95% open. College Night is Tuesday. College students can buy a lift ticket for $10 for the night session. Ladies Day is Wednesday, ladies receive a free lift ticket. There is no snow making going on today!

Sapphire Valley is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Ski Beech received 3” of new snow on Sunday! They are 100% open with wonderful conditions across all 15 trails. They will be making snow today so bundle up as the high should only get to about 10° after a morning low near 3° on our weather station up there!

Sugar Mountain reported 1-2” of new snow and they are 100% open as well. They are not making snow during the day session and tubing is closed until Wednesday.

Wolf Ridge’s folks wrote, “It was a great weekend with The Bowl, Viewfinder and the Wolf Ridge connector are all open! Come ski the entire mountain from the Lower Lodge to the Upper Lodge and down to Breakaway Village. Conditions were great this weekend and will see some great weather and great skiing this week too! Get to the Wolf!”
