We’re still posting from out of town this morning so if you submitted trail reports, photos or videos, bear with us and we will be posting all of those this evening when we get back to broadband “heaven”. Additionally, because of time constraints, we’re going to combine this morning’s update for both SkiNC and SkiSoutheast into one report.

Be sure to check out the SLOPE CONDITIONS page for details on all resort and slope openings.

The big news today is the fact that the weather is turning colder and we have some SNOW in the forecast for some portions of the Southeast and Mid Atlantic for the coming week. Many forecaster have been saying that colder air would be staying away until a day or two prior to Christmas and while it does appear that sustained cold air may still be a bit away from us…the GOOD news as of this morning is that we appear to be getting some timely colder air coming in Tuesday night.

The forecast for areas around Snowshoe, Timberline, Canaan and Wisp show HIGHS in the mid 30s and lows in the TEENS on Tuesday with some snow in the forecast as well! There’s no snow in the forecast further south, but the cold temps are coming in for area into Western North Carolina. Lows Tuesday night should be into the 28° range for Tuesday night and that should have the snowguns cranking out some timely coverage for all ski areas. The temps continue to be cold Wednesday night…so look for some additional snowmaking then.

Things may moderate slightly but then forecasters are saying that more seasonable temps and even some snows could be in the offing for the Holiday period that is fast approaching! That IS great news for skiers, snowboarders and holiday travelers in general.

Conditions are not bad today, so we’ll definitely “weather” the next couple of 50-60° days and be thankful for the snowmaking temps that should arrive sometime Tuesday evening!

We had so many emails that we couldn’t open them due to the slow connection that we’re on here in the Low Country of South Carolina for the weekend, but it appears that we’ve had many of you responding to our “Getting God Involved” in asking for some colder air and snow! Once we’re back on our broadband this evening we’ll open and share those with you guys. It should be interesting!

In the meantime…THINK AND PRAY FOR SNOW AND COLD!

We’ll be updating more content this evening so check back…
