HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN….. Rain tapers to scattered morning showers (40%) for Friday with cooler temperatures around 42 degrees. It will be quite windy with gusts from the west as high as 40 mph. A 40% chance of a late rain shower possible Friday night, changing to light snow as temperatures fall into the middle 20’s. More snow showers (40%) to start off the weekend with temperatures warming up to the freezing mark.

SNOWSHOE…. Friday will be partly cloudy, with windy conditions and highs in the upper 30’s. Winds from the west between 15 and 25 mph with gusts as high as 40 mph. A 40% chance of light snow moves in for Friday night and Saturday with lows in the middle 20’s and highs around 30 degrees. Total possible accumulation will be less than one inch.

WINTERGREEN…. Lingering morning showers (30%) early Friday with a high around 54 degrees and gradually decreasing clouds. Winds will gust up to 35 mph from the west. Skies will be partly cloudy Friday night with a low around 32 degrees. Clouds move back in to start the weekend with a 20% rain chance and highs in the lower 50’s.

OBER GATLINBURG…. Isolated showers end very early Friday morning….. otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy with highs in the middle 50’s. The mercury falls into the upper 20’s Friday night with partly cloudy skies. More sunshine on Saturday with slightly cooler temperatures in the upper 40’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
Rain comes to an end in the wee hours of Friday morning with wind gusts possibly up to 40 mph. Highs will warm into the middle 40’s. A few passing clouds for Friday night with a low in the upper 20’s. Clouds will linger into the start of the weekend with a 30% chance of rain or snow with highs in the low 40’s. Sunday will be cool with a morning snow flurry and highs in the low 30’s.
