HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN….. Despite a return to sunny skies for Tuesday, temperatures will be chilly with highs only in the upper teens. Wind chill values will make it seem more like -5. Clouds move in with a 50%chance of light snow Tuesday night with accumulations running an inch or less. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper teens. Snow chances increase to 80% for Wednesday with temperatures warming into the upper 20’s.

SNOWSHOE…. Tuesday will be sunny but extremely cold, with a high around 11 degrees. Wind chills will make it feel like -10 to -20 degrees thanks to a stiff north wind around 20 mph at times. Clouds are back with a 30% chance of light snow for Tuesday night and temperatures holding in the middle teens. More snow (60%) for Wednesday with a high around 30 degrees.

WINTERGREEN…. Sunshine is in for Tuesday, but temperatures will only warm up into the upper 30’s. Clouds will gradually increase Tuesday night with lows in the middle teens. Wednesday will be mild and wet with a 40% rain chance and highs near 50 degrees.

OBER GATLINBURG…. Sunny skies for Tuesday with warm temperatures in the lower 50’s. Skies will be mostly clear Tuesday night with a low around 28 degrees. A bit breezy on Wednesday with a southwest wind gusting as high as 30 mph to punch the mercury into the lower 60’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
Sunshine is back Tuesday with northwest winds 15 to 25 mph and howling gusts up to 50 mph. Temperatures will only manage to climb as far as the middle 30’s. Skies are clear with calmer winds Tuesday night as the mercury settles down into the middle 20’s. Wednesday is mostly sunny and a little warmer with highs in the upper 40’s. Winds will be back…. gusting at times to around 30 mph.
