HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN….. A bit warmer with cloudy skies and an 80% rain chance Thursday with highs in the lower 50’s. A 90% rain chance Thursday night with locally heavy downpours possible and lows in the middle 30’s. Rain tapers to scattered showers for Friday with cooler temperatures around 40 degrees.

SNOWSHOE…. Warming up to around 45 degrees for Thursday with a 70% rain chance. A bit gusty Thursday night with winds near 35 mph at times coupled with likely rain and possible thunderstorms. Rain comes to an end late as temperatures level off around 30 degrees. Friday will be cloudy, with more windy conditions and highs in the middle 30’s.

WINTERGREEN…. Another warm one for Thursday with lower 50’s and rain showers (80% chance) moving in for the afternoon. Rain is likely Thursday night with occasional downpours possible and nearly steady temperatures in the upper 40’s. Lingering morning showers (30%) very early Friday with a high around 50 degrees and gradually decreasing clouds.

OBER GATLINBURG…. Another warm one for Thursday with lower 60’s and rain likely mainly in the afternoon with a possible rumble of thunder in the mix. More thunderstorms likely with gusty winds Thursday night as temperatures fall into the upper 30’s. Isolated showers end very early Friday morning….. otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy with highs in the middle 50’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
A cold front moves through the High Country Thursday bringing likely shower and thunderstorms, especially for the afternoon hours. Rain may be locally heavy at times with gusty winds and highs in the lower 50’s. Rain comes to an end in the wee hours of Friday morning with wind gusts possibly up to 40 mph. Highs Friday will be a little cooler, in the low and middle 40’s.
