Just Some Notes on the first Sunday of the season…

First Trax

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

I’m still working remotely this morning from a s-l-o-w dailup connection in South Carolina, so bear with me as obtaining the slope reports from a few of our On-Snow Reporters actually prohibited me from updating earlier.  A couple of people sent us some GREAT images, but they were grouped so large that the dialup I’m on would have taken several hours to get, so I’ll save those to post on Monday.

By all accounts, the early conditions at Cataloochee, Ski Beech and Sugar Mountain are very nice. Only Cataloochee reported that they made some snow overnight, but all three have some nice snow on the available terrain.

Some people emailed me that they have been surprised that Sugar hasn’t already opened more slopes, but you can bet that they will be opening more terrain as they have the ability to do so.

I also received a couple of emails from some of you who played around at Cataloochee on Saturday…on some of their terrain park features that Cataloochee made accessible on "Over Easy", just down from the Snack Shack, including their new 20’ C Box.  Be sure to email us some pics at [email protected] !!!

ALL three resorts will be DAY SKIING ONLY today..so get out early and take advantage of the early season conditions!

We’ve also gotten a lot of questions pertaining to WHEN the resorts will begin night skiing.  Most have already said that they will begin offering night skiing NEXT weekend (Thanksgiving Weekend).

Ski Beech isn’t waiting to begin offering their popular discounts!  MONDAY (tomorrow) is LADIES DAY at Ski Beech, which means that the ladies ski for free!  Get up there and enjoy people!!!

Be sure to email me your photos and comments on the conditions at [email protected] and remember that we often place more material and photos of all of the ski areas in the region on www.SkiSoutheast.com so be sure to visit both websites!

Until Next Time…
