Burton Kids’ Camp

Feb 28, 2015 - Mar 1, 2015

Snowshoe Mountain is excited to host our first annual Burton kids snowboard camp.  Little rippers ages 7-12 will enjoy 2 full days of snowboarding with Snowshoe professional coaches & Burton guest coaches.  Mom and Dad check your little one in and we’ll handle the rest.  We’ll split the classes by abilities starting with those brand new to the sport, to those working in the terrain park.  AND…it doesn’t stop there; campers will enjoy a supervised evening pizza party and activities at the Big Top on Saturday night, an ice cream social on Sunday afternoon and an optional grom jam on Sunday afternoon!

This camp includes 2 full days of coaching, lunch both days, Saturday night supervised pizza party and free access to the Big Top, a grom jam and a farewell ice cream social with Burton swag bags.

Burton Kids Snowboard Camp – $199.00 + tax

Burton Kids Snowboard Camp Package (2 day lift ticket & rentals included) – $259.00 + tax

Ability levels:  All levels, beginner to advanced

Check in/out: Campers accompanied by parents will meet their coaches at the Big Top for check in and check out both days at 8:30am and 4:00pm.  An adult guardian must be present at check in and check out.  Children should come ready to hit the snow, properly dressed and with snowboard equipment.

Rentals: We highly recommend picking up rental equipment the night before the camp.  If this is not possible arrive at the rental area 45 minutes to an hour before the camp begins.

Helmets: In our continued effort to make the Snowshoe experience safe for all our guests, all camp participants are required to wear a helmet which is included in all rental packages.

Dress: We suggest dressing in layers with the outer layer being waterproof. Children should have waterproof/resistant mittens/gloves, goggles, a hat that fits under a helmet, and a neck up. It’s no fun to be wet and cold and it certainly makes trying and learning new skills difficult. Being dressed properly is the first step to making sure a day on snow is awesome and enjoyable.

Breaks: Campers will get breaks as needed, at which time children will be offered a snack and hot chocolate or water.

Lunch: Main courses include pizza or chicken fingers. Sides will be mixed vegetables, a fruit selection, or chopped celery. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let their coach know at morning check-in and we will make arrangements with you to insure your child has an acceptable lunch.

Weather Conditions: Camp will not be cancelled due to weather. In the event of extreme weather additional breaks will be provided.

Pizza Party:  On Saturday night, children will have a blast in the Big Top and enjoy a Pizza Party with new friends and coaches from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  An adult guardian must be present at check in/out at the Big Top for evening party.

Grom Jam:  A grom is a young participant in extreme sports.  A jam format allows participants to do as many tricks as possible in an hour.  Burton Kids grom jam will include beginner features set up on Skidder slope exclusively for this event.  Snowshoe coaches will be present to assist groms and to teach them new tricks.  Participation is optional and all about fun and learning; everyone’s a winner
