Meteorologist Brad Panovich has shared his first IN SEASON weather forecast and it looks like some snowmaking ops are in store for all of the ski areas.  As we mentioned in our daily firsTrax story on Tuesday, temps are expected to be in the snowmaking range for Thanksgiving night, Friday and Saturday nights.

Brad Panovich has started a NEW service for us snow lovers.  Beginning today he is forecasting a 7 day forecast that includes whether or not he predicts snowmaking ops for the ski areas. According to him resorts should be able to make snow for four days from Thursday night through sometime on Sunday.

Right now Brad is forecasting the following:

Tuesday, Nov 24: 20% chance of precip – Hi 44° Lo 38°

Wednesday, Nov 25: 20% chance of precip – Hi 45° Lo 34°

Thanksgiving Day: 50% chance of precip with SNOW late (maybe 2-4" in NC and 3-6" further north into Snowshoe, Timberline, Canaan Resorts – Hi: 34° Lo 22°

Friday, Nov 27: 60% chance of snow continuing – Hi 24° Lo 17°

Saturday, Nov 28: 30% of precip – Hi 29° Lo 19°

Sunday, Nov 29: Partly Sunny – Hi 34° Lo 22°

Notice that his forecast is for a bit colder temps than the National Weather Service is forecasting and we’ll hope old Brad is correct!
