This past off-season several resorts dropped us emails about new groomers that had been added to their snow grooming arsenal of vehicles. While all ski areas are focused on making advancements in their product using the latest in technology – they alsp tend to embrace their pasts. Snowshoe Mountain did so recently with the addition of an "old friend" to their arsenal of equipment.

Pictured left to right are Ed Galford, Eddie Beverage and Tim Moore

The groomer in the photo is a rebuilt Tucker Snowcat, which was manufactured in Medford, Oregon, and originally used at Snowshoe in the 70’s and 80’s for grooming the ski slopes. Employees learned to groom the snow on a Tucker.

Since Snowshoe is preparing to celebrate its 35th year of skiing, the Tucker is a great visual for the celebration, sparking memories for both employees and longtime Snowshoe fans.

Fittingly also, the three men in the photo are veteran Snowshoe employees. Ed Galford who has 35 years with the mountain, Eddie Beverage has 30, and Tim Moore has been here for 25 years.

Very cool, Snowshoe!  Very cool!
