A VERY MILD WEEK AHEAD FOR NC SKI AREAS

Today’s the day that starts the week-long rocketing of temps that everyone’s been talking about.  Spring is HERE…for about a week.  Forecasters are saying that Winter-like temps may make it back into the Western North Carolina Mountain by next Thursday or Friday…but will they be cold enough or prolonged enough to make a difference for some NC Ski Areas? Timing has been everything this winter and we think that the timing may be too late for some ski areas while Appalachian and Cataloochee may stick it out to the 26th as planned.  Here’s the forecast:

Today expect Mostly Sunny skies and a high of 58°.  Tonight 38°. Thursday looks partly cloudy and milder to 60° with an overnight low of 45° and a 60% chance of a shower.  Those showers may linger into Friday morning a bit and we could also see some variably cloudy skies with highs in the 61° range.  Saturday looks Partly Cloudy and mild at 63°. Sunday should offer variably cloudy skies and a 30% chance of rain and 63°. Monday should be Partly Cloudy and 62°…and Tuesday brings another 30% chance of showers and maybe a thunderstorm and a high of around 58°.

Until Next Time!
