HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

Possible Snow Up North by the end of Sunday…

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN…. Still a bit wet for Saturday with a 30% rain chance and highs around 53 degrees. Skies become partly cloudy overnight with lows in the low 30’s. Sunday will bring more showers with temperatures in the middle 40’s. By Sunday night, rain showers may mix with and change over to light snow with temperatures in the upper 20’s.

At SNOWSHOE…. Look for off and on scattered showers on Saturday (30%) with temperatures in the middle 40’s. Skies will be partly cloudy Saturday night with more clouds and rain moving in to finish off the weekend (90% chance). Highs Sunday will be right around 40 degrees. A temperatures fall on Sunday night, the leftover moisture (80%) will change over from rain to snow, with a brief period of freezing rain possible.

WINTERGREEN, VA & OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Partly cloudy skies return for Saturday after an isolated early shower with highs in the middle 60’s. Remaining dry for Saturday night, but showers return for Sunday (80%) with temperatures in the low 50’s. Wet again for Sunday night with temperatures holding in the upper 30’s and low 40’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Sunshine is back to kick off the first weekend of 2007 with temperatures in the middle 50’s. Clouds are on the increase Saturday night with isolated showers late and lows in the low 40’s. A near 100% rain chance returns for Sunday with highs in the upper 40’s, and by Sunday night, this rain may mix with snow as temperatures fall into the low 30’s.
