What’s new for 2010-2011!
With over $1.2 million in capital investments made over the summer, Cataloochee is certainly stepping up to provide the best winter sports experience possible! With the addition of 13,000 feet of snowmaking pipe, the already killer snowmaking system just keeps getting better! They’ve also added 2 Pisten Bully snow groomers making for some seriously fresh corduroy!! And, you’ll be stoked to know that Cataloochee has replaced all adult rental boots and is starting the season with 700 brand new adult skis in the rental shop, so you’ll be shredding in style…

New Terrain!
This year at Cataloochee you’ll find some brand new terrain! A second terrain park has been added and is home to four new snow guns. The more mountain, the better, and Cataloochee is continuing to grow!

Conservation Minded Too!
Cataloochee is committed to making your skiing or snowboarding experience the best it can be by utilizing the most advanced snowmaking system in the Southeast. And as a member of the National Ski Areas Association’s Sustainable Slopes program, they are dedicated to lightening their footprint on the earth by protecting and conserving natural resources. This year, for the 2010-2011 season the folks at Cataloochee have replaced 24 snowmaking guns with new eco-efficient automatic fanguns! Cataloochee has also added a new six-stick automatic snowgun system on the Alley Cat Racing Trail. Automatic guns are more more environmentally sound and efficient!
