There’s snow everywhere in the forecast for today. The only questions is…how much? And when will it finally arrive? Today will be one of those days where you hurry up and wait. It’s like waiting at the window waiting to be picked up for your first date. You know they’re coming, and you’re giddy with anticipation, but they just can’t seem to get there fast enough, and then you start to wonder if they’re even going to show up at all, and then finally…they arrive, and all that worrying was for nothing!! So today, just be patient!!

Canaan and Timberline got another 2 inches of natural snowfall through the overnight. They are the only ski areas reporting any new snowfall this morning.

Wisp Resort (McHenry, MD)
Today: Snow. High near 32. East wind 7 to 10 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers. Low around 15. Wind chill values as low as zero. West wind between 11 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Canaan/Timberline (Davis, WV)
Today: Snow. High near 31. East wind around 8 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers. Low around 14. Wind chill values as low as -1. West wind between 11 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible

Snowshoe Mountain
Today: Snow. High near 30. East wind 7 to 14 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers. Low around 11. Wind chill values as low as -5. Northwest wind between 15 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Winterplace (Ghent, WV)
Today: Snow. High near 33. North wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers, mainly before 4am. Low around 19. Northwest wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Bryce (Bayse, VA)
Today: Rain, snow, and sleet, becoming all snow after noon. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 32. North wind between 6 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow, mainly before midnight. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 21. Northwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Massanutten (McGaheysville, VA)
Today: Rain before noon, then snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 33. North wind between 6 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Appalachian (Blowing Rock, NC)
Today: Snow. High near 35. Breezy, with a north wind 9 to 12 mph increasing to between 17 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Windy, with a northwest wind 26 to 29 mph decreasing to between 18 and 21 mph. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wolf Ridge (Maggie Valley, NC)
Today: Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 2pm. Some thunder is also possible. Patchy fog between 10am and 11am, then Patchy fog between 2pm and 3pm. High near 35. Calm wind becoming northwest between 15 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Ober Gatlinburg (Gatlinburg, TN)
