Brilliant sunshine is the word of the day across the Southeast.  We shorten the forecast down to a few areas today as ski resorts close for the season.  We’ll show the details from North to South now that all but Cataloochee are closed.

WISP RESORT – Today: Mostly sunny, with a high around 49. Northwest wind between 7 and 13 mph. Tonight: A slight chance of showers after 3am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Tuesday: Showers likely, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 49. South wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Tuesday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 3am. Cloudy, with a low near 34. East wind at 5 mph becoming northwest. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.  Wednesday: Partly cloudy, with a high around 55. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 44. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Saturday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55.

SNOWSHOE IN WEST VIRGINIA – Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming west between 4 and 7 mph. Tonight: A slight chance of rain and snow showers after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 34. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Tuesday: A chance of snow showers before 10am, then rain and snow showers likely between 10am and 11am, then periods of rain showers, mainly between noon and 3pm. High around 40. Southwest wind between 9 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.  Tuesday Night: A chance of rain showers, possibly mixing with snow after 2am, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 33. North wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Wednesday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 44. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Friday: A chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a high around 58. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 43. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Saturday: A chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Saturday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 51. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

We will post the forecast for Wintergreen and Cataloochee mid week as they plan to reopen for one last time this weekend.
