We reported earlier this morning that Sugar had opened for Day Skiing today after ONE full day and night of snowmaking. Sugar Mountain has opened two of the trails allowing for skiing from their 3/4 station down.

That made Sugar Mountain the first resort to open in the Southeast again this season.

Appalachian Ski Mountain has reported that they put down about ONE FOOT of manmade snow in the last 30+ hours and THEY WILL BE OPEN ON SATURDAY.

Let’s all THINK SNOW and here’s hoping they be able to remain open through the next few days of "iffy" weather.

Seasonable temps will be on tap, with borderline overnight lows and there is a chance of rain both Saturday night and next Tuesday. Then it looks like SNOW is is the forecast for Wednesday Night and Thursday. We’ll keep you posted!
