Skier’s Forecast for the North Carolina Mountains for February 26, 2006

Weather

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

Enjoy the conditions at the ski areas for the next few days as sunny skies and mild temps will dominate the weather pattern for a while.  Sunday will be beautiful AND cold with highs near 30°. It was very cold last night as Beech dropped to 11° and most dipped into the teens.

Sunday night will be a cold one as well with temps dropping into the teens again and if the forecasters are correct, that MAY be the last snowmaking temps that we will see in the North Carolina Mountains until about March 5th and we’ll see a mild up.

Monday will be windy, but otherwise mild and that trend looks to be sticky with us for several days.

Last year at this time we entered into a very busy week as far as snow was concerned – as we had snow for most of the week.  That won’t happen this go around.

Check the details:

SundayPartly cloudy this morning…Then clearing. Windy and cooler with highs in the mid 30s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Monday…Partly cloudy and breezy. Highs in the mid 40s. West winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday…Mostly cloudy in the morning…Then becoming partly cloudy. Windy with highs around 50. West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph…Decreasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday…Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. Highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday…Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Lows in the lower 40s. Highs in the lower 60s.

Friday…Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s. Highs in the lower 50s.

Until Next Time!
