Skiers Forecast for the North Carolina Mountains for February 21st, 2006

Weather

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

After a couple of weeks of snowy weather, we’re in for a little borderline weather regarding temps and moisture.  Over the next few days when the moisture is around the temperatures will be slightly milder and bring in some “under developed snow” and this weekend when the temperatures nosedive down, the moisture will be unavailable to make for snow…except from the snowguns of course!

We’ll experience close to normal temps for this time of year over the next couple of days for another system of arctic air envelopes the region over the weekend and into the first of next week.  So expect temps in the 40s for highs and around freezing or slightly below freezing for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It will be variably to partly cloudy each day except for a bout of that underdeveloped snow on Wednesday and then again on Saturday.  Other than that, look for cold and clear skies.

We won’t be anywhere NEAR the records in weather history for this date as they are reflected here:

The record high was 66° set back in 1980.
The record low was 4° set in 1958.
7” of snow fell on this date back in 1977.
