Matthew East provides a nice video that tells us what to expect this weekend. Check out the full video via the link at the bottom of this post!
The summary of the update: Everybody is talking about the rain for the first half of the weekend and heavy snow for the second half. We’ll focus on the second half, thank you very much. Thanks to Matthew’s concise reporting, we now know this – that those weather-babe-models – you know the European and American models – are now agreeing that heavy snow will fall on Sunday into Monday morning. As much as a foot of snow will probably fall during the height of the 12 hour storm.
That is the good news. The other news (we won’t call it bad just yet) is that the thought is that the snow will dump that kind of snowfall on the North Carolina Mountains, but there is a chance that the track of this system will dump that kind of snow on the Upstate of South Carolina or Piedmont of North Carolina – and only light snow in the mountains.
This particular system should also cause for more snow in WV and Western Maryland but as it looks now, more snow will fall further South from this one.
Here’s hoping for a foot or more in the NC and Virginia mountains and as much or more further north.
THINK SNOW PEOPLE!
