McHenry, MD – Snow tubing, America’s fastest growing winter sport, is available at Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park at Wisp Resort. With the addition of a new carpet surface lift, Wisp Resort will increase uphill tubing capacity and maximize the guests’ time in the tubing park! The new $100,000 carpet will replace one of the two two-ropes at the Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park.

Snow tubing is the perfect family outdoor activity and is fun for all ages. It has all the thrills of sledding without the long hike back up the mountain. There are no lessons needed or expensive equipment to buy and maintain. Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park provides the specially designed tubes to ride down the mountain.

Tubing is very simple. Two surface lifts, one carpet and one tow-rope carry tubers to the top of ten runs. Guests ride the tube to the bottom of the hill and ride the carpet or tow-rope to the top to do it over again. Children must be at least 42” tall to ride the tubes, no hard boots permitted.

“If you like to sled and love the outdoors, but don’t have the desire to ski, then you will love snow tubing”, says Jerry Geisler, Director of Facilities at Wisp. “Snow tubing requires no equipment or lessons which makes it easy for all ages. Our park lights allow you to snow tube day or night.”

Bear Claw Snow Tubing Park is open seven days a week throughout the winter season and is available for private parties and group sessions. Monday – Friday sessions are $15 per person, two hour sessions are $20 per person Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Advance reservations are recommended: tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 301.387.4911. Visitors may call 301.387.4911 for snow tubing session times or visit wispresort.com for more information.
