More Resort Opening Today in the Southeast!

Ober Gatlinburg in The Smokey Mountains of Tennessee is enjoying their opening day today as is Canaan Valley and Timberline Ski areas.

We weren’t able to ascertain how many trails Timberline would have open today, but they are offering ONE DOLLAR SKIING TODAY!

Snowshoe Mountain has 19 trails open and unbelievable conditions up there. 18" of snow has fallen since last Saturday and combined with awesome snowmaking ops, that mountain is in great shape.

On-Snow Report Bill Johnston reports – "I was at Snowshoe on Wednesday and all I can say is, " OH MY LORD!" The conditions were the best that I have skied on in years. No crowds, just steady coverage. I was amazed to see that as a skier I was outnumbered on the slopes. This place must be the snowboarding capital of the east! As I said, the snow was great, the people greater and the weather — greater still. I’m headed over to Foxfire Grill for some bites and I’ll send another report later. Enjoy!"
