MildToday – Snowy Weekend!

The weather for the higher elevations of West Virginia and those of North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland are very much alike in terms of forecasted highs and lows…and precip for the next few days.

Expect several inches of snow possible for Snowshoe, Canaan and Timberline on Saturday, with only 2-4” possible in North Carolina…but all in all a pleasant day today across the region.

Here’s the forecast for Snowshoe, Timberline, Wisp and Canaan areas…with slightly milder temps south.

Thursday…Sunny. A pleasant afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.

Friday…Partly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain showers. Highs in the upper 50s. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Saturday…Blustery and much colder. Snow showers likely. Additional several inches of snow accumulation possible. Breezy and much cooler with highs in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of snow 60 percent.

Sunday…Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 40s… Highs in the upper 30s across higher elevations. Lows in the lower 20s.

Monday…Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 40s.

Tuesday…Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain showers. Highs in the upper 40s. Lows in the mid 30s.

Wednesday…Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain showers. Highs in the lower 40s.
