We have just given away our final Free Skiing Vacation Giveaway for the 2005-2006 Ski Season! Congratulations to Kent Morrell and his family from
Kent, his wife and four children will stay free at Eagle Ridge Log Cabins in Banner Elk. Many of our vacation winners will tell you that Eagle Ridge provides a GREAT getaway convenient to Sugar, Beech and most of the High Country. We also added a couple of extra free lift tickets to Ski Beech. The contest was for FOUR lift passes but we threw in the extras to provide for their entire family. Additionally, they won free equipment rentals from Ski Country Sports in Banner Elk.
We could not have picked a more deserving family to win this particular trip. In speaking with Kent, he told us that he “really needed a getaway” and in our conversation we learned that Kent and his company, Indoor Ocean of Knoxville, Tennessee was asked and donated more than $45,000 worth of product and time to install a 600 gallon aquarium in a home that was being built for a deserving family featured on the ABC television show, Extreme Home Makeover. That work was donated back in June of last year. The show aired in September and between that time and his teenaged daughter were hit by a drunk driver and while his daughter recovered rather quickly, struggled to recover from back problems from the accident.
It was really quite warming for us to be able to reward a deserving winner who was so willing to reward others. While our award pales in comparison to what they did for another deserving family…it does prove that Good things DO happen to good people!
So congrats again Kent and we hope you have a great and much deserved getaway.

Well after 325 free ski passes and 8 Vacation Giveaways that’s all we have to give for this season. We gave away more than $18,000 worth of free lodging and free skiing this season. We appreciate all of you who entered and congratulate all of the winner. We do what we can around here and we hope you guys appreciate all of the fine businesses who made it all possible.
