SkiNorthCarolina.com / SkiSoutheast.com’s On-Snow reporter, Austin Beeghly was on hand at Cataloochee’s opening of the 2005-2006 season today. That officially took place at 1pm on Thursday as the two young ladies that are pictured on today’s Photo of the Day exited the lift chair and started the season for the Southeast’s resorts. Sorry we don’t have their names…but wouldn’t it be cool to know that YOU were the first to make THE FIRST TRACKS across the region.
Austin reported, "WOW!! What a day of skiing at Cat. Light crowds and lots of snow made for a unforgettable day at the Cat. The snow was kind of hard to ski on at first but after some traffic on the snow it was better. Things look amazing up there. Congrats Cat on being first."
