Wintergreen Resort provided an update for the 2020-21 season Wednesday.

In a letter from General Manager Rod Kessler, Wintergreen announced that the intended opening date for the 2020-21 season, resort infrastructure improvements as well as discussed COVID-19 protocols.

The target opening date for the Virginia resort is slated for Friday, December 11 – weather dependent – which is the typical opening weekend for Wintergreen.

Over the summer, Wintergreen prioritized lift maintenance and work on their snowmaking system to be prepared for the upcoming season.

For this upcoming season, face coverings will be required in every part of Wintergreen resort – including all buildings, the base area, lift lines, and on chairlifts.

The resort will also do everything possible and practically for social distancing – including managing the number of people on the mountain.

However, capacities have not been set, but the resort is confident any restrictions will be on a limited number of days.
