Cold winter weather is in the forecast for the next week or so.

DAVIS, W. Va., January 24, 2017 – West Virginia’s top-rated Canaan Valley Resort is offering two special deals to make a winter visit to the highest valley east of the Rockies even better.

Situated in north central West Virginia within an easy drive of Washington, D.C. and other Mid-Atlantic cities, the deals include discounted midweek room rates through March 30, excluding holiday time periods.

Travelers choosing the Cabin Fever package will save 20 percent off cabin, cottage and room rates when staying midweek Sundays through Thursday evenings. Tax or resort feeds are additional.

The Savvy Seniors rate offers travelers who are 60 and older a $65 rate on midweek overnight accommodations in a mountain view room with two queen beds Sunday through Thursday (except Presidents’ Day Weekend), with room upgrades available for an additional rate. Guests must show identification at check-in.

The resort also offers a Bed & Breakfast package that includes accommodations, breakfast and privileges at the resort’s Beech Club, and a Ski and Stay package with accommodations, breakfast and ski area lift tickets.

“Canaan Valley Resort not only offers some of the best skiing in the Mid-Atlantic, but also some of the best bargains anywhere in the region,” said Steve Drumheller, general manager of the resort. “By February, many people are ready to end their winter hibernation and go outside and play, and with the outdoor playground here, they will find many options.”

The tubing park is 1,200 feet long.

In addition to an award-winning ski area, which recently swept the Liftopia’s “Best in Snow” awards for the Southeast region, the resort offers a multi-lane tubing park, cross country skiing and ice skating rink. When it’s time to come inside, guests will find a variety of informative and fun evening programs, a popular restaurant and lounge and the Beech Club fitness center with an indoor pool and hot tub.
