From North to South…beginning around Wisp Resort in Maryland and the West Virginia Mountains: Today: Partly cloudy, with a high near 40. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph. Tonight: A slight chance of rain after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Periods of rain, mainly after 4pm. High near 36. Breezy, with a south wind 7 to 10 mph increasing to between 22 and 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Periods of showers. Low around 34. Breezy, with a south wind between 21 and 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday: Rain and snow showers likely, becoming all rain after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Windy, with a west wind 17 to 20 mph becoming west between 28 and 31 mph. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers before 8pm, then a chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy and windy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

North Carolina Mountains: It will be a cloudy Thursday in the mountains, but not a wet one. Look for a slight chance of a light shower or two but it should stay dry all day today and this evening. Best chances for rain are after midnight. The high Thursday should be 50° and the low tonight of 38°. Friday will be a wet one! Look for 90% chance of rain – heavy at times – and highs near 42°. Saturday look for light showers and gusty winds in the 20-30mph range (with gusts approaching 40-50 mph at times!)
