The summer season came to an unofficial close this week, and our area resorts had a ton of activities going on.
As the gears start to turn to fall and winter (only 77 days give or take a few to opening day – but who is counting), there is still plenty of things going on around the area.
We take a look at some of the best social media posts of the week as we head into a GORGEOUS weekend in the High Country.

A couple of resorts – Winterplace Ski Resort and Wolf Ridge Ski Resort – showcased special pricing on season passes for select times.
Ober Gatlinburg wrapped up their first season of summer tubing this week as they start to transition to winter tubing.
Ober Gatlinburg also had a great snow event over the Labor Day weekend.
Snowshoe Mountain Resort is hosting the prestigious UCI MTB World Cup 2019 this week. The event features some of the best mountain bikers in the world and select events will be streamed live on Red Bull TV. Take a ride on the downhill track that riders will take on this week.
Another unique event this month is at Wintergreen Resort as they host The Sound of Music. The production features a ski lift ride to the stage as the hills come alive with the sound of music. for more information, click here.
Beech Mountain had some great posts this week as well. The resort posted a video recapping the Beech Mountain Enduro.
The resort was also named as one of the 10 coolest places to drink craft beer in America by Men’s Journal.
