October is such a cool month in the mountains.

There are plenty of events to go along with the gorgeous fall colors while we are all getting excited in anticipation of the ski season getting fired up.

That leads to a mix of awesome fall and winter social media posts in our Top Social Posts of the Week.

Over on Facebook, we shared a couple of photos from the Banner Elk this morning showcasing some beautiful changing leaves.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook for all kinds of photos, information, specials, and giveaways as the season gets closer.

App Ski Mountain posted a great teaser of the fall colors. Today is a big day over at App Ski Mountain as they kick off the 22nd Annual Preseason Sale and Swap Today. The event runs through the 20th.

Massanutten Resort is hosting the Massanutten Fall Festival this weekend, and it is always a great time.

Up at Canaan Valley Resort, Justin Harris took a hike to the Dolly Sods to check out the fall colors and the resulting photos are spectacular. Justin also posted a great Mountain Blog video.

Snowshoe Mountain had a great #ThrowbackThursday post to get up amped for the upcoming season at 4848′. You can take advantage of some crazy good specials through October 16 as part of their Flurry of Savings.

Winterplace is also hosting a Ski Swap event – as well as scenic chairlift rides – every weekend this month.

Sapphire Valley is hosting a great event for Hurricane Relief in the Bahamas on Oct. 16. The Sapphire Songwriters Round and Full Barbeque Dinner will be a great night of entertainment.

Until next time, Think Snow!
