1″ of rain has already fallen in some areas of the WNC Mountains like Seven Devils, Sugar and Beech. The news gets even worse when you consider the forecast is for another 1-2″ of rainfall for the area.
Things are a bit drier into West Virginia and Maryland.
We got word earlier this morning that Sapphire Valley Resort has now closed until further notice. We may see another temporary closure if the rain is too heavy. We’ll update you on the status at all of the ski areas Sunday AM.
