There IS some BAD News…

Before we get a bunch of gloom and doom emails…let me say that there IS skiable terrain open at Appalachian and Sugar…and we should see some others opening soon. However, for those that were hoping to see ALL resorts open with ALL terrain going at this point in the season…it’s certainly been disappointing. You always hope for an early start, but the truth is as slow as this start is… Sugar opened at about the same point last year, albeit with a bit more snow and terrain going. With their opening this Friday, Snowshoe is actually opening earlier than they did last season. So things aren’t quite as delayed as they seem. We’re getting a lot of emails wondering when things will get going. They WILL…and all of the long range weather gurus are still forecasting a colder and snowier winter than last.

NOW THE BAD NEWS —

After this little burst of cold air…from tonight through Saturday…we’re going to see milder air return with no real cold air behind it all the way through next week. The short range forecast is for Highs and Lows Sunday to be in the 40s. Monday we may see some showers with highs around the mid 40s and lows around then same. Tuesday…it gets milder into the 50s. This could be a slow start. THINK COLD AND SNOW PEOPLE!
