Let it snow, let it snow and let it snow!

When I looked out the window this morning, I couldn’t help but be giddy at the sight of natural snow falling. Mother Nature certainly delivered on the forecasts overnight as we saw up to eight inches overnight with more on the way today.

Canaan Valley and Snowshoe were the big winners overnight as Canaan saw just over eight inches of natural snowfall while Snowshoe received six inches. Wisp, Wolf Ridge, Sugar Mountain, Cataloochee, and Beech Mountain all recorded three inches of snow overnight, while Ober Gatlinburg picked up two inches.

The best part? The snow is going to continue today with the northern part of the region receiving another 2-4” AND we are going to see more snowfall tomorrow.

Mike captured this video this morning outside our offices.

How sweet is this weekend going to be?

Kenny got a jumpstart on the Ski Southeast Summit as he made the trek last night to Snowshoe, and posted a couple of videos over on Facebook – including a quick video tour of the village this morning showcasing the beautiful scenery that awaits us for the Ski Southeast Summit this weekend.

Here is the snow coming as Kenny arrived at 4848’ last night.

Just a quick note – registration for the Summit closes at noon today so be sure to get signed up if you are going to join us.

On top of the fresh natural snow, the resorts jumped at the opportunity to make snow overnight. Conditions today are going to be fantastic on the slopes.

For the full conditions report, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Check out some of the sweet views this morning.

Beech is looking great this morning.
Canaan is looking pretty sweet after eight inches of snow fell overnight!
The snow is coming down hard at Wisp this morning.
Flakes are continuing to fall at Snowshoe this morning.
Cataloochee is having a bluebird day this morning.

Today is going to be a sweet day to ride (anyone want to play hooky?) and this is shaping up to be the best weekend of the season.

That does it for today, but be sure to check us out over on Facebook and Instagram as we will be posting pictures, videos and more as the snow continues to fall.

Until next time, #ThinkSnow!
