Snowshoe, West Virginia:
Expect light rain at Snowshoe today with highs near 45°. Lows tonight near 34°.
Wednesday will be breezy but partly cloudy. Expect gusty winds and highs near 40° and overnight lows should allow for snowmaking at 25°. There’s a 40% chance of snow Wednesday night around Snowshoe.
Snow is likely then all day Thursday and Friday with highs both days in the low to mid 20s and overnight lows in the teens to near 10°.
Saturday should be partly cloudy and cold with highs in the 24° range and lows near 15°
Sunday brings another chance of snow.
Winterplace – Expect basically the same forecast as Snowshoe, with temps some 8° or so milder each day.
Timberline and Canaan could actually see a little more snow from this system later in the week…as snow is in there forecast from Wednesday Night through Saturday…and with chances Sunday and Monday as well. Expect cold temps in line with Snowshoe’s forecast only a few degrees “warmer”.
Wisp Resort’s forecast is very much in line with Snowshoe, Timberline and Canaan’s…just a few degrees milder each day and night.
North Carolina Mountains:
Tuesday and Wednesday will be VERY WINDY days across the mountains of Western North Carolina as this drizzly rain system moves out tonight and partly cloudy skies return on Wednesday.
Expect drizzle all day Tuesday with windy conditions…some strong gusty winds later in the day. Highs Tuesday should be around 40° and a low Tuesday night should be near 34°, which probably means no snowmaking Tuesday night.
Wednesday will be mild and sunny with highs around 47° and lows near 30°.
Things get back to Winter on Thursday with some possible snow showers or at least flurries after a Partly Cloudy start to the day. Highs Thursday should be close to 36° and the snowguns will be running with lows reaching down to 25° .
Friday will be a SNOWY day with some accumulating snows and VERY COLD temps. Highs should be around 26° and lows in the mid teens.
Saturday will start with some leftover snows and highs near 27° and lows still around the mid teens. Lots of snowmaking!
Sunday returns us to sunny skies, great ski conditions and highs near 40° and lows near 25° .
