SNOWSHOE MOUNTAIN CONTINUES HISTORIC START TO THE SEASON, BEGINS SNOWMAKING IN WESTERN TERRITORY

The resort also announced Monday that the Tubing Hill will be open for the Thanksgiving Holiday

-On Monday night, Snowshoe’s expert snowmaking team began making snow on Cupp Run, Snowshoe’s signature slope in its West Territory. This is one of the earliest starts ever for snowmaking in the Western Territory.

-2” of natural snow fell overnight Monday.

-Already this season Snowshoe Mountain Resort has received 49.5” of natural snowfall. More natural snow is expected throughout the day Tuesday and into Wednesday. As much as an additional 12” of accumulation is expected.

-Snowmaking has occurred nearly around the clock since Saturday, November 15, and should continue throughout the week.

-The tubing hill, a family favorite at the resort, will be available for the Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. The tubing area, which was not scheduled to open until mid-December, will be open Thursday, November 26 to Saturday, November 29, from 3-9 p.m. daily.

-Snowshoe opened for the season on Friday, November 21, five days ahead of schedule.

-Snowshoe plans to open at least 9 additional slopes on Wednesday, November 26, which was the resort’s planned Opening Day. More than 50 acres of skiable terrain will be open on Wednesday.

-Snowshoe will continue to add new terrain on Saturday, November 29. The resort plans to open as many as 10 additional slopes for the weekend, which will mean at least 25 slopes and 80 acres of open terrain in the Snowshoe basin area.

-Snowshoe will add terrain park features to the Powder Monkey Terrain Garden for Wednesday, November 26. Plans are in place to add features to the Spruce Glades Terrain Park for Saturday.

-By Saturday, Snowshoe will have at least 5 lifts open
