You can get in a full day of slope fun and maybe visit one of the many Choose & Cut Christmas tree farms and pick your tree for the Holiday season.
Today, let’s suffice to summarize the conditions at ALL of the ski resorts as pretty freaking awesome (that one was for you, Kenny) and there’s lots of “Packed Powder” in the Snow Report.
Check out the SNOW REPORT for all of the deets as today I’m just hitting some notables.

(The photo above was taken by Jordan Nelson on Saturday. )
Canaan Valley Resort – It was awesome hearing from David Vance from the Davis, WV resort. Canaan is riding on 8 trails for day sessions and with the best opening weekend conditions in years after 16.9″ of snow fell from the 26th-28th! They are reporting snow depths of ONE FOOT on the ground and their base is 24-30″!

Wintergreen also has a terrain park and tubing open today! (Wintergreen’s Tubing Park looks ready for primetime!)
Bryce Resort – We ended up hearing from them and they had 8″ of snow from the storm. They will be open today for skiing on 4 trails and tubing as well.
Massanutten Resort – They are OPEN for skiing on 6 trails today and tubing as well. They do want to let everyone know that the Ski Slopes and Snow Tubing will be closed Monday, 12/1 – Friday, 12/5. The Ski Slopes and Snow Tubing will re-open Saturday, 12/6 for daily operations. Night sessions will start in mid-December.
Wisp Resort – They added 2 more trails open since their opening day on Friday. Squirrel Cage and The Face are both open along with two beginner trails. “The Face” is one great trail and the view from atop Squirrel Cage is pretty sweet. Deep Creek Lake down below is always a nice Kodak moment.
Cataloochee Ski Area – added two more trails to their open terrain, bringing them to (10) open for day and night sessions on Saturday.
Ober Gatlinburg – Open for tubing. We’ve had some emails about their webcam. It was down early on Saturday…then back up…and it appears that it’s down again. Perhaps it’s time for a new HD Streaming Cam?
Sapphire Valley – They opened their Frozen Falls Tubing Park. The ski area opens in mid-December.
Sugar Mountain Resort – They have (11) trails open as well as tubing and their huge ice rink.
Wolf Ridge Resort – No report since October 21st.
That’s going to be it for today. Be sure to check out the photos and videos that were posted from around the region on Friday.
