Forty nine out of fifty states in the US currently have snow on the ground. That is a pretty incredible fact considering meteorologists were predicting a mild, dry winter for the Southeast due to a La Nina. According to the National Weather Service, almost 70% of the contiguous United States is covered in snow. Even Hawaii has a few inches of the white stuff atop Mauna Kea! The only state without any snow cover is Florida. I guess they call it the Sunshine State for a reason.
