We just have one more day until winter returns.

Winter is returning to end this week, but we have to get through one more day of spring-like conditions with warm and wet weather today.

Cold is forecasted to arrive in the region on Thursday and Thursday night and winter will be here to stay for a while with the potential for snow natural snow over the weekend (potentially a few flakes could fall tomorrow in the northern part but nothing major).

Brad shared his latest forecast overnight and it is great news if you are a snow lover.

This weekend should be great conditions once the mountain ops crews are able to kick snowmaking off on Thursday and Friday. That forecast looks incredible with plenty of snowmaking and some natural snow chances.

It certainly looks like we are going to end the month on a great note.

Today certainly doesn’t look great weather-wise as you may be dodging some raindrops. For full slope conditions, be sure to check out the Snow Reports page.

As I mentioned at the top, there are a lot of spring-like skiing conditions on the slopes today with most resorts reporting groomed or loose granular conditions.

With rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, Beech Mountain has suspended lift operations for today and will resume as soon as possible.

On that note, there could be a lot of changing conditions today due to the forecast so I would call ahead to be sure that things are still operating at your resort of choice.

It is going to be that type of day, but it will still be a fun one if you are able to get out on the slopes.

Be sure to follow us on social media for the latest updates as we get them – especially as we look for announcements regarding getting things cranked back up.

The cold weather can’t get here fast enough.

That is it for today, but as always #ThinkSnow and #ThinkCold!
