Mountain communities to kickoff Summer 2019 with variety of events

With Memorial Day weekend coming up you don’t want to miss out on all of the festivities that are taking place in the Southeast. If you are looking for a great weekend check out these events to fill your weekend with lots of fun and great memories.

Beech Mountain
The Downhill Southeast is back! This Memorial Day weekend Beech Mountain will be hosting an early season race to start off the summer. The annual Series will be hosted by Neko Mulally beginning on May 25, 2019, and concluding on May 26, 2019.

If you do not want to participate in the race the remaining trails will be open to the public. If you are interested in registering or just need more information visit their website.

Blowing Rock
If you are a shopper and want to get the most out of the Memorial Day sales the block party is where you will want to be. Enjoy the live music, face painting, family-friendly games, chalk art and so much more. The local high school brass band and jazz music ay High Standards Band will get the whole family dancing. Come out and join everyone on Saturday from 4-7pm and be sure to have a great time.

Snowshoe Mountain
Beginning on Friday, May 24th there will be live music entertainment from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The Jarod Stout Band will be playing in the Village Plaza to start off the weekend.

With a number of exciting events to participate in on Saturday including a red and white wine seminar, a wine tasting and sampling, and more live entertainment. Concluding the event on Sunday will be a showing of the movie The Greatest Showman in the village. This is a perfect getaway for everyone. Omni Homestead Resort
The Omni Homestead Resort is hosting different events for Memorial Day starting May 23, 2019, through May 27, 2019. Book your stay to be involved in all the action.

With golf clinics, wine tastings, fly fishing and other resort specialties to participate in as well as traditional favorites like the Red, White and Blue Fireworks and BBQ dinner. The children’s carnival and craft classes are just where they will want to be to let parents relax with no worry. Come out and enjoy our live music and fun at the Memorial Day Weekend celebration.

Bryce Resorts
Everyone loves a pool party and that is exactly what Bryce Resorts is hosting this Memorial Day weekend. The opening pool party is starting on May 25th at 6:00 pm and will last until 9:30 pm. Have a blast dressing out for our Caribbean Themed night with live music to please everyone!

Ober Gatlinburg
Memorial Day weekend at Ober Gatlinburg is the closing weekend of Mayfest. This traditional German celebration is a great way to spend your holiday. The array of activities including the Uphill 5k, traditional Maipole dance, arts and crafts and lots of free kids’ activities. This is a perfect getaway for the whole family, and no one will be disappointed.

Massanutten Resort
ValleyFest is here! Starting Saturday, May 25th at 12:00 pm there will be a number of bands, beer and wine, and vendors to check out. Starting off the live entertainment is Mike Davis followed by 3 other groups that will provide a number of genres to suit everyone’s needs. Relax with great music and breweries and wineries that you’re sure to love. Tickets will be sold at the gate as well as online to ensure you get into this exciting event.
