The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Vail Resorts announced they are closing March 15 - 22. They will make a decision by March 20 as to whether or not they will reopen. Looks like my ski trip just got cancelled.

All resorts in Colorado are now closed, I believe it was mandated by the governor. Of course we just arrived in the Aspen area this afternoon. I was able to move our return flight up to Wednesday (originally Saturday, we were doing the second half of the week around Copper), so we’ll have to find something to do for a few days.

Just returned from Breck for a short 3 days of skiing (3/12-14). Everything was pretty normal for the first two days, but on Saturday the resort stopped serving hot food on the mountain at the quick-serve dining spots. They also asked us to ride on chairlifts and gondolas with their parties only. In order to implement that policy, they removed singles lines at all lifts and had just two lines with one small opening that led to both of them. This really backed up operations at the gondola and would have been even worse at the bottom of Peaks 7 and 8 if not for the reduced number of guests.
