And by working with you, do you mean requiring them to advertise on your site? Or requiring them to use your cameras and hosting? So, they don't want to spend money with you - that is their choice. And it is your choice to not promote tgem. But, not listing them in your daily ski report and one of the few times you mentioned them is to put down their snow total estimate really makes the website look kinda silly IMO.theKENDOG wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 9:03 amI don't understand how it's pettiness. There has been a ton of time and effort put into this site over the years, including by myself. Literally every single ski resort in the region supports the site in some way, except Sugar. After almost 20 years or so of Mike doing this and not getting any support from them, why should we report on anything they do? Will it hurt their bottom line? No. As a business owner though, why should he want to give them free publicity when they don't want to work with us?deere25 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2019 9:44 amAnother good question brigand. And also no mention on here of the greatest thing to happen for the beginner skier in the history of NC skiing. The widening of the Easy Street slope and installation of a high speed quad at Sugar for beginner skiers. Beginner and lower intermediate skiers I would dare say is 80% of any resorts business. The pettiness continues....

And we still have all the info about them.

They're just not in First Trax.
As for the putting down their snow total thing...I wouldn't have done it but it's not my site.
WOOOOOO!

So Appalachian, Beech, Hawksnest, and all the other "member" resorts are only paying for a mention in First Trax? Under the heading of resorts on the top of the page, all of Sugar's info is there. Under conditions, you can find their slope report, and there is also a nice write up about their tubing operation. All the other paying member resorts should be pissed!

What is up guys! Happy almost summer... hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather. I am trying to get back in the shape I was in before I started traveling for work. And we are also moving to lake norman on the west side... exciting times!
My 2 cents on Sugar... look Mike has put 20 years in to building this site and content. The site is an ambassador for the ski industry in the region... it does ski tourism marketing better than NC or the actual regional association responsible for promoting the economic benefits of the ski industry. If Snowshoe has done the math and has proven Mike's business is generating skier visits then that is a pretty solid endorsement of the value that skise is doing for the resorts. If he doesnt want to cover Sugar so what? It's his company. Yes it is weird and strange to read the blog with the glaring omission of Sugar info... but hey takes 2 seconds to jump on their site. If all the other resorts are contributing he really has no choice.
If you have beef with this situation, take it up with Gunther... send some emails to the Jockls letting them know you read the site and want to have Sugar covered... because that's where you go to get your snow and resort updates.
Great pic at the top ken.
