Long Mountain Ski Resort was located in Campbell County, Tennessee, about one mile from Nashville on Highway 46 East, and was open for a very brief time, the 1979-1980 season. Offering one quad, the area was initially built to compliment the local tourism industry.
Long Mountain failed as a result of poor planning. Winters in this region are not cold enough to consistently offer skiing. The remains of the lift and tow ropes are still visible on the former Long Mountain Ski Resort hillsides.
If you have any information or photos about this ski area, post here or drop us an email at [email protected]. This portion of the messageboard was implemented so that those who have skied or played at any of the closed ski areas can share their experiences and discuss "old times". This is the place to share your stories or knowledge about ski areas that used to operate and are now lost or closed in Tennessee.
