Brad Moretz as well as several other long time residents and former Watauga High School student have told us that the old Watauga High School off of Hwy 105 in Boone operated for skiing as a non-revenue kind of thing. They had a couple of snowguns and kids and adults skied there for more than a year or two according to several sources.
