What is now High Meadows Golf and Country Club used to be a small ski area located five miles north of Roaring Gap, NC. According to research done by Andrea McIntire the area operated in the late 70s or early 80s and had some beginner and expert trails with two rope tows and a vertical of less than 100 feet! The longest run was 1100 feet or so and was open daily. It had a ski schoolm rentals and some low tech snowmaking. They had a small base lodge, cafeteria and nearby lodging!
