I'm seeing 6-12" forecast for this weekend at Snowshoe & CV yet there's no board chatter. Is this what happens when the media doesn't give weather a name?

Where are you seeing that at?

EDIT: I see the 12Z Euro spit out some good snow numbers, but that's a model not a forecast. This is getting interesting!

The QPF would seem to support that, showing a cumulative precipitation equivalent to 1" of liquid over the next 7 days.

It's on the internet, it must be true!

I never like to go with Weather Underground's computer automated forecasts, especially when it comes to snow at the ski areas here in the Southeast. The NWS up there hasn't come out with any projected totals yet nor has any meteorologist that I've seen. It's still 3-4 days out, but it does look promising.

what the hell... If there is an actual possibility of a 12 inch storm, I need to put my current boss on notice, 16 inches in the CV and I will quit without notice and beg for reinstatement later.

this system does not sound like it will deliver that.

It probably isn't. This is why I hate using Weather Underground, especially more than a few days out. It's all computer automated. The NWS didn't release totals for a reason, not even in the forecast discussion. Because this can happen...

Local weather guy is forecasting 4-6". How late the warm air hangs on through Saturday is probably the key factor.
