Update (Tuesday 10:50am)
Man is it crappy out there. We have rain across the entire region and it's going to continue all afternoon before changing over to snow tonight. Just look at the image below. It's not too often we have watches and warnings for flooding, ice, and snow at the same time.
Tonight will be the transition to from rain to freezing rain/sleet to snow. By daybreak tomorrow it'll be all snow and the Northwest Flow machine will be getting started up. Accumulations in NC now look to be pretty decent. The phasing of two upper systems is going to take place right over western NC. Combined with the Northwest Flow, and we could see a pretty good event tomorrow. Below is the WRF output.
Some of that snow will initially melt on the wet ground and it's going to be hard to measure anything due to the high winds. I'm now thinking 6-8" for Beech.
The snowfall amounts up in WV don't look nearly as impressive as they were last night. Snowshoe is still looking at 6-8" though and Wednesday morning should be awesome out there for opening day. Refills awesome.
More snowmaking Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The Friday and Saturday time frame still looks good with bluebird skies and colder temps. Should be a great weekend for skiing and snowboarding.

You are brave to be skiing tomorrow. It's going to be WINDY, blowers will be in full force, and it's going to be snowing hard.
Snow starts overnight and continues through most of the day tomorrow. Things should wind down at night. I wouldn't call this a massive event, moderate maybe. If you're going to App, you should be fine on the roads. I'm sure you'll encounter some snow covered though.

My rain gauge had 5.25 inches in it and it has been steady rain over 24 hours yuck.
