Looks like there is an arctic blast headed towards the mid-Atlantic beginning the week of Thanksgiving. I know long range forecasts are highly suspect, but if the forecasts hold up, looks like there will be 3-4 days of very cold weather before Thanksgiving day. Maybe we'll have some other ski hills open by then.....Anybody seeing similar forecasts?

Thats pretty far out, but NOAA is showing cold air starting to arrive at the end of this coming week- looks like Snowshoe could see snowmaking temps by Thursday or Friday night. Good news for them.

I am determined to ski Thanksgiving week.

Obviously long term forecast are suspect at best. The arctic air that was a possibility before Thanksgiving never materialized. Again, going out on a limb here, but it does look like cold air coming in for several days starting the weekend after Thanksgiving. Let's hope this blast of cold air does materialize and gives the snowmakers a chanced to perform their skills.

Have fun...
