The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Skied at Beech Thursday for the first time this season. 12th time out this season but we've been going to Wolf and Sugar and one time to Cat. The snow was great yesterday, and it snowed off and on all day, and they were making snow. The snowmaking wasn't really a problem- they seem to know how to do it without blinding you or soaking or frosting you. It was a good day, pretty busy for a weekend but not really crowded. And they're making snow on Oz! Now for my complaint, or maybe just question. Why change the name of Oz Run? And why to something as dumb as West Bowl? I'm thinking that something called a bowl should be somewhat bowl like. Oz is not and neither is Powder Bowl by the way. The bowliest thing at Beech is Freestyle, but they don't call it a bowl. But as for Oz it's kind of an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of thing with the name change. I still love Beech though

Nice pics. We stayed at that house on the left in the last pic the first week in January. Condition were not quite as good when we were there but all the Grands learned to ski.

They probably think "Bowl" sounds more like a western skiing area for the skiers who live on the double diamonds out in Colorado, Utah, Washington, California, etc. The ones where an all-day lift ticket can run upwards of $300.
