The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Not sure what our rates will be yet but they did say they would be cheaper than what the gov't would be offering. We'll see if that is true.

Of course your rates are going to increase. You can thank your friendly neighborhood Republicans for that for their demand that the individual mandate be put off for a year. Without the mandate (and associated penalty for noncompliance), why would someone young and healthy sign up for health insurance not paid for by their employer? Soooo, the only additional people you have signing up are at best high risk and at worst previously uninsurable.

And really if your rates went up 30% that's not much of an increase considering they have been increasing at greater than 20% the last several years anyway, so is it really the ACA or just the normal market? 40%+ is a different story.

My cost didn't change. I still pay $0 for family coverage. I do know that my employers rates increased by 28% which was 4% more than last years increase and 2% more than the previous years increase. I don't see that as a HUGE difference but yes they are a little bit higher than I would think they should be.

Has thanked: 1 time

Don't forget to ask what happened to your max out of pocket and deductible....mine skyrocketed.

It's humorous that so many people who supported the legislation are now complaining about it.

We are keeping our BCBS bc they are amazing. And we don't want to be raped on rates.
