For some reason 15 years ago down in the south the ski shops were selling fools shorttttt all mountain skis. 161 cm thats only good for breakaway slalom racing. Im 60 and advanced skier only ski 4 days a year, now i ski shorter 180 for powder , 176 all mountain. i throw my 176cm around easy even in moguls. IM 180 5 foot 9 1/2. My brother same height 2 years ago was on 186 nordica enforcer ski he ran them into moguls too much bent them slightly got a new pair 179 loves them.
Only way i go down to 172 cm is super stiff volkl ski.
yOU GREENHORNS DOWN HERE USED TO LOVE SHORT SKIS. my brother was a ski bum alta utah 13 years ago he had volkl gotma 184 cm . HE SAID 24 YEAR OLD FEMALES OUT THERE RUNNING 184 ALSO. YOU DUMMIES down south aint running 184 back then and she weighed 130 lbs. THE SOUTHERN SKIER WAS LATE ON GETTING MEMO need longer ski for powder all mountain skis.

i seen guys like bigger than me running 161cm yeah its a shaped ski you can go lower. I skied 200 when i was 25 but dummies in the south were sold a bad seed and info on ski length. back in 2002 this guy raleigh shop trying to sell me 170cm skis then 15 years later he was o yea you can go 188 on a rossi soul ski , what the 170 to 188 but lots of dummies got stuck with beanie shorty skis.

my brother luke you will never meet anyone like him, broke or bent 8 straight skis. HAD A pair of fishere bent them bad got another bent that one they said no more. ALSO HAD A DYNAMIC TOP SKI actually boke it first day out who does that. He recently bent nordica enforcers at 58 years old in one year never heard of that anywhere lol. He has gotten 8 new skis on warranties. maybe more at least that much
