They didn’t open last year due to COVID, not sure about their future. Disappointing for us Alabama guys, loved the back side when the gondola was operating.

That place was always a lot of fun. It scratched that itch when you only had a couple hours. It was what it was, as long as you knew that, it was a fun time. It’s been needing a reinvestment for a while, and with the new snow making technology, that place should have been about to go from nothing to 100% in one night. Instead it would take them weeks if cold temps to get one side open to the top.

I’d love to own the whole thing, chalets and all, reinvest and make that place awesome.

I agree. There is potential there for sure. They closed the little golf course a while back. Renamed the dude ranch, it is a girls camp now. The entire property is awesome, just needs some fresh ideas, marketing, updates, and renewed energy. I have a copy of the documentary they did, it is really good. You should check it out.

I’ve seen the previews for the video, but haven’t seen the whole thing. Would like to see it.

This can’t be a good sign. The Cloudmont website is now gone……sad days. The weather has been awful the last decade for them, then didn’t open last season due to Covid. Looking more and more like they may be done. May need to break off a car ride up the mountain and see what’s going on.

This was taken last January when they weren’t open due to Covid. Not sure if they would have been open anyway, last winter was not good for snowmaking in Alabama.

This is sad to see. When I first came on here 15+ years ago the OG members on here raved about that place.
WOOOOOO!
