Suggest you consider asking on DCSki. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful guys over there who are parents or grandparents with Snowshoe ski school experience.

For a first ski experience for tweens, I would book 2 days with a gap in the middle. Get the kids off to a good start on Day 1. Play around with them as much as they want on Day 2. Then they can build on whatever they learned so far on Day 3. Goal is always to leave when they aren't quite ready so that they are primed for the next trip. Even if that means a shorter day on one or more days.
